About Me

IMG_1258.jpeg

I enjoy living in the Okanagan with all that it has to offer. In the summer, you will usually find me hiking, camping, paddleboarding and running. In the winter, you’ll find me snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and skating. Spending time in nature has many benefits such as reducing stress, improving mood, and promoting a greater sense of calm and clarity. As you can see, I have a golden retriever named Alice! She loves to join me on all my adventures. I love to travel and have been to 12 countries so far.

I’ve been a Registered Social Worker since 2011 when I graduated with my Social Work Diploma from Grant MacEwan University. Since then, I graduated with my Bachelor of Social Work in 2018 from the University of Manitoba and my Master of Social Work from the University of British Columbia - Okanagan in 2019. I like to take a holistic approach to counselling focusing on the mind/body connection. Let's talk about everything from nutrition, sleep habits, movement to stress. While I utilize a variety of theories (CBT, MI, EFFT), I’m currently focused on becoming a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and have completed the 6/8 trainings so far.

In order for counselling to be effective, I truly believe that there needs to be a strong foundation based on a working therapeutic relationship. This is where I like to start, the therapeutic relationship. I'm an expressive person and like to offer insight and tools while active listening. If for any reason I am not the right fit for you, I am more than happy to help you find a counsellor that is.

I am able to direct bill ICBC and FNHA.
